Classics Recovered Summer '02
A project to redesign covers for classic works of literature to enhance their shelf appeal to contemporary readers
James Joyce, Ulysses
An otherwise daunting work of literature is made more approachable through the use of the hilarious first line of the passage which introduces Leopold Bloom, the central character of the novel.
Homer, The Odyssey
The oversized 'O' hints at the cyclical nature of Odysseus's travels. On the front cover, it also forms the figure of a bow, his weapon of choice.
